GUIA (GUINCHO), CASCAIS
VerdeOeste were first introduced to our American Clients to advise on the potential renovation of a mid-century contemporary Vila they were considering purchasing as their new family home. Our advice extended to other properties and they finally purchased a vacant site for a new-build home in Guia, Cascais.
After some preliminary pre-acquisition support, we set about the process of appointing an Architect to design their home. Based on local knowledge and extended network, VerdeOeste introduced a number of Architects to our Clients’ own list and initiated a competition to an invited shortlist of identified Architects. Details of the Clients’ aspirations, requirements and tastes were drawn from our discerning and well-informed Clients and each of the shortlisted Architects presented their preliminary design proposals and accompanying fees. Local Portuguese Architects, João Botelho & Miguel Oliveira were selected and have been working closely with the Client to develop the detailed and technical designs.
VerdeOeste are supporting the Clients through every stage of the project’s evolution, acting as Employers’ Agent, monitoring the design and licensing processes.
Additionally, our support extends to overseeing an open competitive tender process for the construction contract and client representation during closing negotiations with the contractor and subsequent monitoring of the on-site works through to completion, commissioning and handover with the aim of optimising cost, programme and quality.
